Adaptor 1 Biography
"Vern Thiessen is a playwright and film writer. He has written more than a dozen plays for both children and adults, and his work has been produced at professional theatres in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. His plays for children include: Dawn Quixote, which has now been seen by over 90,000 people across Canada; On The Line, a play about two children who communicate via the internet; and Home Run, a new play commissioned by Quest Theatre in Calgary. His adult plays include Blowfish, published by Playwrights Canada Press. He also wrote the screenplay for Samurai Swing, a short film aired on national television, and which has screened at film festivals across North America, including Montreal, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Winnipeg, Dawson City, Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton. Vern's presentations are suitable for Grades 4 to adult. He will present for groups of 50 or less.
