Synopsis |
A story of love, betrayal and ultimately, prejudice and racism. This two-hour television adaptation of the well-known Shakespearean play delivers a psychological thriller with romance, deceit and murder, starring Carlo Rota (24 and Little Mosque on the Prairie) in the title role. Director Zaib Shaikh (Little Mosque on the Prairie) maintains the theatrical feel of the play, while shooting in a studio-controlled environment. The play has been restructured and edited for the television presentation, but preserves the beauty of Shakespeare's text and highlights the relevancy of the story for today's audience.
